Description
Based in the foothills of Mount Elgon, Norman grows coffee from the districts of Sironko, Mbale, Bulambuli and Kapchorwa. He is the founder of The Coffee Yard, a major coffee receiving and drying center in the region. With almost two decades of experience in the industry, Norman brings a deep expertise and knowledge of coffee growing and processing. The microlot is named after the strong team of Norman Mukuru and Maria Kirya. Maria, head of quality at The Coffee Yard since its founding in 2018, has extensive experience in the coffee world, where she has been working since 2009. She plays a key role in developing the sensory profile of coffees and considers Blind Cupping an essential tool, as it allows her to detect potential processing faults in an objective manner. His analysis provides valuable feedback to the production team and ensures that each coffee meets the quality expectations of his clients.
